Welcome to Swimbridge House

The nursing home may be found by leaving the village along Station Hill and crossing the new bridge. There is a regular bus service to and from Barnstaple and South Molton which runs throughout the day.

Review from Carolyn H (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 July 2019 January 14, 2020

Swimbridge House Nursing Home is committed to ensuring that we keep all our residents and staff as safe as possible.

While we are fortunate to share that there has been no COVID-19 case in or linked to our home, we feel that precautionary measures should still be in place, given the highly contagious nature and accompanying implications of the virus for the elderly. To support our residents and staff during this period of uncertainty as lockdown around us eases, we are asking for your support in postponing all non-essential visits. To keep in touch with your loved ones, we have made provisions for alternative forms of communication (such as telephone or video calling). Vital medical visits will still be made, and we will ensure that only visitors who are not displaying symptoms come in, and that they wash their hands on entering.

For potential new admissions, as per guidance from Public Health England and Devon County Council, please contact the Registered Manager of the Home prior to coming so we can carry out the appropriate risk assessment.

We have not taken this decision lightly and please be reassured that we are closely following and complying with guidance from Public Health England and Devon County Council to ensure that we keep our residents and staff safe and that our staff are supported to deliver high level of care. Obviously, we will keep the families informed of relevant changes in our policy through emails, the website and our newly launched Facebook page (Please search for ‘Swimbridge House Nursing Home’ and like us to get updates).

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these times.

With kind regards,
