Good Care Month is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the dedication, kindness and commitment of care professionals, and at Swimbridge we’re taking the time to say a heartfelt thank you to our incredible team.
Throughout July, members of staff will be receiving special Good Care Month badges to wear with pride, recognising the valuable role they play in supporting our residents every day. These badges celebrate the compassion, patience and professionalism that make such a positive difference to the lives of those in our care.
We’re also creating a Thank You Carers Board, where residents, relatives and colleagues can leave messages of appreciation for our care team. Whether it’s a few kind words, a memorable moment or simply a note of thanks, every message will help celebrate the people who make Swimbridge such a warm and caring community.
We are also looking forward to bringing our team together to celebrate Good Care Month, with plans for a staff get-together currently being finalised.
Good care is about creating meaningful relationships, providing reassurance, encouraging independence and making every day the best it can be. We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful for everything they do.
To all of our carers – thank you for your dedication, your kindness and your unwavering commitment to making a difference every day.

This Loneliness Awareness Week (15 – 21 June), we’re taking time to recognise the importance of connection, conversation, and community.
Created by Marmalade Trust, Loneliness Awareness Week is a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness and encouraging open, honest conversations around how it affects us all. Their message is simple but powerful: loneliness is a natural human emotion, and by talking about it, we can better support ourselves and one another.
Loneliness can affect people of all ages and at many different points in life. Often, it’s the smallest acts of kindness that make the biggest difference – a smile, a shared cup of tea, a familiar face, or taking the time to sit and listen.
Creating meaningful connections is something we value every day. Through shared activities, conversation, visits from loved ones, and moments spent together, we see just how important companionship is for wellbeing, confidence, and happiness.
This week is a reminder that no one should feel alone, and that connection doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful. A small gesture can open the door to friendship, comfort, and belonging.

Running from 1st April to 5th May, National Pet Month is a time to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives, while promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
For older adults, the companionship of animals can be especially meaningful. Pets provide:
At Swimbridge, the celebrations have been in full swing, with residents enjoying baking special pet-friendly cookies and sharing photos and stories of their beloved family pets. These activities have sparked wonderful memories, bringing everyone together while celebrating the special bond between people and their animals.
