National Self-Care Week this year was between the 18th to 24th November, and we wanted to reflect back on the importance of looking after ourselves — physically, emotionally, and mentally. At Swimbridge Nursing Home, self-care is something we encourage all year round, but this special week allowed us to shine a spotlight on the wonderful ways we support our residents in feeling their best.
Self-Care in Action
Throughout the year, we provide a range of services and activities designed to promote wellness and relaxation. These included:
💅 Pampering Sessions: Our residents enjoyed nail care treatments, leaving them with beautifully manicured hands and a boost of confidence.
💇 Hairdresser Visits: A fresh haircut or style can do wonders for the soul! Residents love their time with our talented hairdresser, leaving them looking and feeling fantastic. We often even order in some costa coffees, for a real treat!
🧘 Movement and Mobility Support: We welcome physiotherapists and movement specialists to help our residents stay active and maintain their mobility. Gentle exercises, stretches, and personalised advice are tailored to individual needs, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.
Why Self-Care Matters
Self-care isn’t just about physical health; it’s about nurturing overall well-being. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet moment of pampering, staying active, or sharing smiles with others, these activities help our residents feel rejuvenated and valued.
At Swimbridge, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive environment where self-care is part of daily life. From regular pampering sessions to ongoing physiotherapy and mobility programmes, we ensure our residents have access to services that promote happiness and health.
At Swimbridge Nursing home we provide a wide range of activities for all our residents. For more information on our activities go to www.swimbridgehouse.co.uk/activities/
